A crack Cambridge team had an excellent morning of rugby at Ipswich, beating the two Ipswich teams, 20-0 and 35-0.

Cambridge 20 – Ipswich 0

Try scorers:    Jonah Omitowoju x2
    Robert Marmion x1
    Sam Mace x1

It was tough rugby for Cambridge at first, and whilst the ball was mostly in the Ipswich half, the sides looked evenly matched.  Eventually Jonah Omitowoju picked up a loose ball and ran through the Ipswich defence to get Cambridge’s first.  Jonah got Cambridge’s second, dodging past two Ipswich players in the process.  Robert Marmion put the ball over the line for the third time for Cambridge with a fine run just the right side of the touchline from the half-way line.  Half time score was 15-0.  Sam Mace scored Cambridge’s 4th with a try in the top corner of the pitch.

Cambridge 35 – Ipswich  0
Try scorers :    Harry Molton
    Marcus Lankford
    Robert Marmion
    Sam Mace x1
    Jonah Omitowoju x2
    Hugh Barker

Another very strong performance from Cambridge.  The game started with great teamwork, with scrum-half Hugh Barker passing to Robert Marmion, who was brought down on the line by the Ipswich defence.  The ball was deftly passed to Harry Molton who scored Cambridge’s first.  The second try was a bit messy, to be polite, but it worked, with Marcus Lankford scoring.  Sam Mace had a good run just prior to Cambridge’s third, with a swift pass to Robert Marmion who scored cleanly this time.  15-0 at half time.

In the second half, Cambridge won an early scrum, with James Young picking up the ball, passing it out to Jonah to score.  Jonah helped with the next, making a great long run before passing out to Sam Mace who put it over the line.  Cambridge’s sixth try was great teamwork, with Jonah passing to Sam, and then to Hugh who scored.  Cambridge final try came in the last minute, with another characteristic long run from Jonah
