Cambridge ‘Sand’ 0 – Towcester 10

 Great tackles from Louis, Jonah and Harry Connor kept Towcester away for the Cambridge line. They won four lineouts against a very determined Towcester team. Hugh Barker received an injury in a brave tackle and had to be taken off. Cambridge maintained the pressure, with fine runs from Jonah, Harry Molton and Sam Mace, but  Towcester went 5 ahead at half time.

The second half saw a much tighter formation from Cambridge, pushing into the Towcester half. Under pressure Cambridge worked well together with good tackles from the forwards, but Towcester eventually broke through for their second. The 10- 0 defeat was accepted with good grace by the Cambridge team

Cambridge ‘Sand’ 20- Beford Red 0

A scrappy start from Cambridge, but a great rip from Harry Connor, and a drive forward from Harry Molton soon put Cambridge in the Bedford half. An offload to Jonah and good co-ordinated play gave Robert the chance to go over for the first. Cambridge dominated the game, spreading the ball around. Louis won a Bedford lineout and the ball was quickly over to Jonah who powered over the line for the second.

Cambridge made a great start and maintained a good formation. Bedford were ready this time and runs from Harry Molton, Jonah and Louis were blocked .Finally a Cambridge scrum provided the opportunity which Robert seized and was over for the third try. Bedford started fighting back. From a scrum in the Cambridge half, Ben Taylor scooped the ball up and side stepped his way down the field. This was followed by a fine run from Jonah to secure the fourth.

 Cambridge ‘Sand’ 35- Bedford Blue 0

A fine start with two tries in the first minute and half. Milo driving over the line and Robert’s powerful run. Impressive attacking skills put Sam Mace just short of the line. Not to be deterred Robert got the third. Bedford picked up the pace and made some headway into the Cambridge half. Not for long. With solid support Cambridge were soon back. A great run from Ben Taylor, breaking through the tackles, before offloading to Marcus who powered over the line.

The second half saw a great interception from Jonah who confidently crossed the line for the fifth. Good supporting play from the forwards and Louis was out with a fine run down the wing for the sixth. Bedford headed towards the Cambridge line, but Euan made a great tackle which saw them pushed back. A penalty for Bedford gave them another chance, but Cambridge were just too strong. A great ruck from the forwards, sheer grit from Louis and Cambridge had their 7th.
