Match Reports 2007-8 Season - Under 10 Match Reports 2007/8

Cambridge 25 – Bury St Edmunds 0

Cambridge started well with some determined play and plenty of passing.  The wingers saw plenty of action.  Cambridge’s first try was a bit of a scrappy affair, with Harvey Jacklin putting it down after a tussle on the line.  This gave the Cambridge side more confidence, with Harvey scoring again and Harry Connor scoring to make it 15-0 at half time.  In the second half Sam Mace weaved and dodged his way to the try line, with Harry Connor almost doing the same minutes later being pushed into touch just before scoring.  However, he made up for it just before the end of the game with a great run and try to make the final score 25-0.

Cambridge 0 – Ipswich 5

A tough game with two very evenly matched sides.  At half time the score was 0-0 despite huge effort from both sides.  Ipswich scored just before the final whistle, although as Ipswich had also beaten Bury, both sides went through to the semi-finals.

Cambridge 0 – Colchester 20

After a long break, Cambridge met Colchester, who scored within seconds of the start.  Cambridge’s tackling, usually strong, wasn’t enough to stop Colchester, who went on to score a further three trys in the first half.  In the second, Cambridge’s game really stepped up, with some fantastic tackling from Hugh Barker, and good scrummaging from the forwards, Milo Reynolds, Tom Clements and Harvey Jacklin.  No trys were scored by either side in the second half – a much better half for Cambridge.
