Colour Saturday 26 April 2008
COLOUR SATURDAY, next weekend on April 26th, is the grand finale to the Mini & Youth season. For the first time, this year's event coincides with the 1st XV's final home game of the season with free entry for all M&Y family and friends.
ENTERTAINMENT includes an army marching band, fairground rides, games, coconut shy, cake stall (please bring along your offerings on the day), sweet stall, hog roast, curtain-raiser match from the Under 9s, a chance to meet the 1st XV and, of course, the presentation of colours to players, who will need to turn up in their rugby kit.
THE FUN starts at 12.30pm and continues for most of the day, with the first team match kicking off at 3pm. Now all we need is good weather....
FINALLY, a big thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets in the RFU Grand Draw. The Under 7s did a particularly phenomenal job, selling 50 books and raising £250 - £25 of which goes to the RFU with the reminder being divided between M&Y and the Under 7s. The Under 14s sold £88, just beating the Under 15s on £85, The Under 10s raised £55 and the Under 11s £30. Each age group gets back 45% of their sales, 10% goes to the RFU and the rest goes to M&Y to help build up a tour fund. Well done everyone - and good luck in the draw!
PS Northampton Saints are running a rugby camp at CRUFC over the May half-term, 27-29 May, details here
