Cambridge Sand 20 v 5
Sudbury
Cambridge Sand dominated possession and territory in the first half. After dominating play,
Cambridge had a scrum 5m out from which Hugh Barker went down the blind side to score the first try.
In the second half
Cambridge continued to dominate the game. From the kick off,
Cambridge forwards drove the ball forward before releasing the backs with William Zeitlyn finishing the move by breaking two tackles to score. The third try came through a flowing back move which allowed Jonah Omitowoju to break through the
Sudbury defence to score.
Sudbury scored a consolation try from a penalty which they kicked and ran through to score.
Cambridge had a penalty near the
Sudbury line which was taken quickly and Jonah Omitowoju went over to score
Cambridge’s fourth try.
Cambridge Blood 0 v 20 Sudbury
This was the first time that Cambridge Blood had played together but they looked very cohesive and performed strongly against a strong
Sudbury side.
The first half was fairly even with
Sudbury edging it through a backs move allowing them to go into half time one try to nil up.
Early in the second half,
Sudbury broke through the
Cambridge defence to score their second try. Despite strong defence from
Cambridge,
Sudbury were able to cross the try line twice more to win by four tries to nil.
